NABL Surveillance Assessment Conducted at Pesticide Testing Laboratory Jammu

JAMMU, AUGUST 8: National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) Surveillance Assessment was conducted today at the Pesticide Testing Laboratory, Jammu, to assess the laboratory’s continued compliance with the applicable requirements of NABL accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

The assessment team comprised Dr. Shivakant Dwivedi, Lead Assessor and Dr. Sunil Singh, Technical Assessor, who carried out a detailed assessment of the laboratory’s technical competence, quality management systems and testing procedures.

The surveillance assessment was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu, Anil Gupta and Agriculture Chemist, Jammu, Roshan Lal Bhagat.

The assessment focused on evaluating the laboratory’s continued conformity with NABL requirements and ensuring the maintenance of high standards of quality, technical competence, accuracy and reliability in laboratory testing services.

The assessment proceedings were attended by Assistant Agriculture Chemist, Ravinder Kumar Gupta; Research Assistant, Tarminder Singh; Junior Agriculture Extension Officers, Vikas Gupta, Inderdeep Singh, Adarsh Anand Thaploo and Ramanpreet Kour.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Gupta said that maintaining NABL accreditation is an important component of ensuring credibility, transparency and reliability in agricultural input testing. He emphasised that the laboratory must continuously strengthen its quality systems and technical capabilities to ensure accurate and dependable testing of pesticide samples. He further stressed that adherence to prescribed standards and protocols is essential for safeguarding farmers’ interests and ensuring the quality of agricultural inputs available in the market.

Speaking on the occasion, Agriculture Chemist, Jammu, Roshan Lal Bhagat, said that the surveillance assessment provides an important opportunity to review and further strengthen the laboratory’s quality management system and technical operations. He stated that the laboratory is committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, impartiality and reliability in pesticide testing.

Roshan Lal Bhagat assured the assessment team that all prescribed procedures and NABL requirements would continue to be followed in letter and spirit. He also acknowledged the guidance and support of the Director Agriculture Jammu in strengthening the laboratory’s technical infrastructure and quality assurance mechanisms.

During the assessment, the NABL team carried out a detailed inspection of the laboratory facilities and witnessed the implementation of laboratory activities to verify continued compliance with NABL accreditation requirements. The assessment covered documentation, technical competence of personnel, testing methodologies, equipment calibration, laboratory infrastructure, quality assurance procedures and overall laboratory operations to verify compliance with NABL accreditation requirements.
