Mega Padyatra Held in Sub-District Beerwah Under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan organized by Social Activist Muzamil Mehmood

Beerwah, August 6: A Mega Padyatra under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was successfully organized from Tehsil Office Beerwah to Main Adda Arwah by social activist and youth leader Muzamil Mehmood.The awareness rally was conducted with the support of Budgam Police and the Education Department, Beerwah, to raise awareness about the growing menace of drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free society.

The awareness march witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various schools in Zone Beerwah, officials of the Sub-Divisional Administration, Beerwah Police, the Health Department, other government departments, members of the Traders Federation, the Transport Association, civil society representatives, and local residents.

Among those present were SHO Beerwah Mudasir Nazar, Nazir Ahmad, owner of Indian Gas Agency, Muzamil Ahmad, Chairman of the Caring People’s Welfare Foundation, Budgam, along with several prominent members of civil society, who extended their support to the anti-drug awareness initiative.

Carrying placards with anti-drug messages and raising slogans such as “No to Drugs, Yes to Life,” “Say No to Drugs, Save Your Future,” and “Healthy Youth, Strong Nation,” the students actively spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and productive life.

Speaking on the occasion, social activist Muzamil Mehmood said that drug addiction poses a serious threat to the future of youth and society. He emphasized the importance of awareness, education, and community participation in combating the drug menace and urged young people to stay away from drugs and focus on education, sports, and other positive activities.

He further stated that safeguarding the younger generation from the dangers of drug abuse is a shared responsibility and called for sustained awareness campaigns and stronger community engagement to build a healthier, safer, and drug-free society.

Addressing the gathering, SHO Beerwah Mudasir Nazar highlighted the vital role of society, educational institutions, and law enforcement agencies in preventing drug abuse. He urged students to remain vigilant and report any drug-related activities, emphasizing that collective action is essential to protect the younger generation from the menace of narcotics.

Students participating in the padyatra expressed their commitment to spreading awareness among their peers and communities.They stated that drug addiction destroys lives, families, and careers, and urged fellow youth to choose the path of education, discipline, and responsibility.The students also pledged to actively support anti-drug initiatives and contribute towards making society drug-free.

The programme concluded with all participants taking a pledge to support the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and work collectively towards creating a drug-free, healthy, and prosperous future for the youth.
