BUDGAM, JUNE 11: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), a series of awareness, outreach and enforcement activities were conducted across District Budgam today to strengthen efforts against drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free society.
A Drug Awareness Programme was organized at Khag with participation from officials of various departments, social activists, chemists and senior citizens. The programme focused on sensitizing participants about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of community participation in preventing substance addiction among youth.
Meanwhile, enforcement activities under the campaign were also intensified. A destruction drive was carried out in village Mazhama of Tehsil Magam, where wild cannabis growing on vulnerable areas was eradicated through coordinated efforts of the concerned departments.
The programmes highlighted the significance of awareness generation, preventive measures and collective action in addressing the challenge of drug abuse. Participants were encouraged to act as ambassadors of change and spread awareness within their communities.
The District Administration Budgam reiterated its commitment towards the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and called upon all stakeholders to actively contribute towards building a safe, healthy and drug-free society.
