Family Buried Under Debris in Nonabandi Village; Police Launch Investigation as Injured Receive Treatment
Poonch, July 19 (KNC): A 28-year-old woman lost her life while her husband and two minor children were injured after their residential house collapsed in Nonabandi village of Poonch district on Sunday amid ongoing heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.
According to official sources, the incident occurred at around 9:00 am when the house suddenly gave way, trapping four members of the family beneath the debris. Locals and rescue teams immediately rushed to the spot and launched an operation to pull out the trapped occupants.
The woman, identified as Nazia Kousar (28), wife of Mohd Hafiz, was shifted to the District Hospital Poonch, where doctors declared her brought dead.
The injured have been identified as Mohd Hafiz (36), son of Fakar Din, along with his two minor children, Rehan Hafiz (5) and Marya Hafiz (2). All three are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital Poonch, where their condition is being monitored by doctors.
Police have registered the incident and initiated legal proceedings while authorities are assessing the circumstances surrounding the collapse, which is believed to have been caused by continuous heavy rainfall affecting the region. (KNC)
