Udhampur, June 4: Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur, on Thursday organized an awareness programme under the ongoing 100-Day Intensified Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan to promote a drug-free society and spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of Shri Shiv Kumar, IPS, DIG and In-charge Director, SKPA Udhampur, within the Academy premises. The initiative aimed at educating participants, particularly youth, about the adverse consequences of drug addiction and encouraging them to adopt a healthy, responsible, and productive lifestyle.
Among those present on the occasion were Shri Rajesh Sharma, IPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Indoor/Training); Shri Benam Tosh, JKPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Outdoor); Shri Ranjeev Sharma, DDP; Shri Rakesh Sambyal, CPO; Shri Anroop Sharma, Dy.SP, AD (Administration); Shri Shanker Bahadur, Dy.SP, AD (Training/R&D); Shri Sunil Kumar Sawhney, PS to Director; Shri Pawan Kumar, Dy.SP, AD (Outdoor); Shri Rajesh Khajuria, Sr. PO; Smt. Chander Lekha, Sr. PO; Shri Amit Prakash Sehgal, Sr. PO, besides probationary Dy.SSPs, PSIs, and trainees of various courses.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Shiv Kumar emphasized that drug addiction not only destroys the health and future of individuals but also adversely affects families, communities, and society at large. He urged participants to remain vigilant, support rehabilitation efforts, and actively contribute to spreading awareness against drug abuse.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to strengthen efforts towards creating a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir and to carry forward the message of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan in their respective spheres of influence.
