JAMMU, JULY 03:  RANGYUG, a performing arts foundation, successfully concluded its intensive 60-Hour Summer Internship Programme in Performing Arts for the students of Government MAM College, Jammu.

The valedictory ceremony marked the culmination of a training curriculum that uniquely emphasized musical skills, vocal modulation and rhythmic expression alongside core performing arts disciplines.

The initiative was designed to bridge the gap between academic education and experiential artistic learning. Over the course of the program, students underwent structured training aimed at enhancing their vocal capabilities, musicality, stage presence, and creative collaboration. By stepping outside the traditional classroom setup, participants were encouraged to explore the performing arts as a viable medium for personal growth and professional development.

A major highlight of the internship was the hands-on industry exposure provided to the students, who visited professional recording studios. During this immersive experience, the young artists got behind the microphone to record songs in their own voices. They were introduced to the technical dynamics of music production, learning firsthand how professional audio tracking, mixing and recording sessions are executed.

The valedictory function was graced by the Principal, Government MAM College, Jammu, Prof Sanjay Kumar as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Shivani Raina, Head of the Department of Music, Government MAM College, attended as the Special Guest. The event was also attended by Deepak Kumar Director Rangyug, Pankaj Pradhan, Ashish Sharma, alongside other senior faculty members and a large gathering of students.

Throughout the internship, students received expert guidance from an illustrious panel of resource persons, including Deepak Kumar, Ashutosh Sharma, Pankaj Pradhan, Dr. Javed Rahi, Vicky Gill, Mohit Sharma, Dr. Priya Dutta, S. Amarjeet Singh, Ravinder Koul, Ashok Sharma, RJ Juhie Mohan and Parshottam Kumar. The entire programme was coordinated by Ashish Sharma.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sanjay Kumar, Principal, Government MAM College, said, “The Summer Internship Programme has provided our students with an enriching learning experience beyond the conventional classroom. Such initiatives encourage creativity, teamwork, discipline and effective communication while exposing students to the immense potential of the performing arts.

The internship has not only enhanced their artistic abilities but has also broadened their outlook and introduced them to emerging opportunities in the creative and cultural sectors. I also urge students to channel their energy and talent towards constructive and creative pursuits and become ambassadors of a drug-free Jammu Kashmir. The youth have a vital role in shaping a healthy, progressive and responsible society, and initiatives like these inspire them to make positive choices. We sincerely appreciate RANGYUG for its commitment to nurturing young talent and look forward to many more such meaningful collaborations in the future.”

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Kumar, Director, RANGYUG, said, “Every campus is a reservoir of untapped talent waiting to be discovered and nurtured. Through this internship, our endeavour was to create an environment where students could learn, collaborate and express themselves through the performing arts. Over these 60 hours, we witnessed remarkable growth in their creativity, discipline and confidence. Music, theatre and dance are not merely art forms; they are powerful tools for communication, teamwork and personal development. It is immensely satisfying to see young minds embrace these experiences with such enthusiasm, and we remain committed to taking similar initiatives to educational institutions across Jammu Kashmir.

Certificates were presented to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme. Students also shared their experiences, describing the internship as an enriching journey that broadened their perspectives, strengthened friendships and introduced them to new dimensions of creativity and artistic expression.
