NC holds condolence meeting to pay rich tributes to late Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal 

Sagar, Nasir others recall Kamal’s contributions to party, public welfare; lead Fatiha prayers 

Occasion marked by Tilawat e Quran e Majeed for the deceased 

Srinagar, 16 Jul: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Thursday organised a condolence meeting at its headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, to pay rich tributes to the party’s senior leader Late Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal.

The meeting was chaired by the party’s General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar and was organised by Provincial President Kashmir Showkat Ahmad Mir and witnessed the participation of party legislators, senior office bearers, heads of various party wings, provincial and district functionaries and workers, all of whom gathered to remember the late leader’s remarkable contributions to the party and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Among those present were Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Treasurer and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shammi Oberoi, besides several senior leaders including Mubarak Gul, Mir Saifullah, Ali Mohammad Dar and party functionaries.

The condolence meeting commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by Fatiha prayers for the departed soul. Floral tributes were also paid as the gathering observed a moment of silence in memory of the late leader.

Paying glowing tributes, the speakers reflected on the life and legacy of Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, describing him as a principled politician, a compassionate human being, and a steadfast advocate of the National Conference’s ideals. They highlighted his decades-long contribution to public service, his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, and his invaluable role in strengthening the organisation during challenging times.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Muhammad Sagar said, “Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal dedicated his entire life to the service of the people and the National Conference. He remained steadfast in his convictions, upheld the party’s ideology with courage and dignity, and was a source of guidance for generations of workers. His passing has created a void that will be difficult to fill, but his legacy of commitment, humility and public service will continue to inspire us.”

Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani said, “Dr. Mustafa Kamal was known for his integrity, wisdom and unwavering commitment to democratic values. He possessed a rare ability to connect with people across all sections of society and always placed the interests of Jammu and Kashmir above everything else. His contributions to public life and the National Conference will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.”

The participants prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying that they are granted strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to carry forward the ideals, values and vision that Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal stood for throughout his distinguished public and political life.
