GANDERBAL, Aug 15 : The Ganderbal district administration honored senior journalist Shahid Jeelani during the 80th Independence Day function held at Madre-e-Meharban Stadium in Ganderbal on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shri Jatin Kishor, along with other top officials and police officers, presented the award to Jeelani. They praised his years of hard work in reporting on public issues and bringing people’s problems to the attention of the government.
Jeelani is working with many well-known news organizations in Jammu and Kashmir, including Tameel-i-Irshad, Kashmir Age, Emroz Kashmir, Kashmir Press Service (KPS) and other media outlets.Through his reporting, he has helped bridge the gap between common people and the administration.
Local residents, community leaders, and fellow journalists have congratulated Jeelani on this recognition. They said his honest and fearless reporting has given a voice to ordinary people and strengthened democracy in the area.
