DODA, JUNE 13: An orientation-cum-hands-on training on the use of the EzeCheck non-invasive haemoglobin screening device was conducted at Government Higher Secondary School Jatheli and Government Higher Secondary School Jodhpur Doda to strengthen school health programmes and ensure early detection of anaemia among students.
The training was imparted by Krishan Kant, an expert from EzeRX, who demonstrated the operation, initialisation and effective use of the device to designated school coordinators and staff. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Chief Education Officer Doda Bhushan Kumar Pathak and was accompanied by Auditor Samagra Shiksha District Doda KD Shah as part of the district-level monitoring mechanism.
As many as 50 students were screened using the EzeCheck device, enabling school staff to gain practical experience in conducting screenings independently.
The expert highlighted the growing concern of anaemia among school-age children and adolescents, noting that it often goes undetected, adversely affecting students’ physical growth, immunity, concentration, attendance and academic performance. He stressed that timely identification of low haemoglobin levels can significantly improve both health and learning outcomes.
Participants were informed that EzeCheck is a non-invasive, painless and rapid screening solution that allows preliminary haemoglobin assessment without blood collection, making it highly suitable for school-based health initiatives. The session also included awareness on symptoms, causes and preventive measures related to anaemia. Students and staff were advised on the importance of balanced nutrition, iron-rich diets, regular health check-ups and adherence to supplementation programmes. Students suspected of anaemia during screening are to be referred to the Health and Family Welfare Department for confirmation and treatment under existing schemes.
The CEO reiterated that effective utilisation of Non-Invasive Anaemia Detection and BMI Monitoring System devices, supplied to cluster higher secondary schools during 2025–26, remains a priority and that ongoing field visits and training sessions are aimed at building staff capacity and ensuring regular screening for early intervention.
