Budgam, J&K: Renowned Social Activist and Youth Leader Muzamil Mehmood received a special book sent by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. A delegation visited his residence in Manchhama, Beerwah, to present the book titled “Barah Saal Bemisaal.”
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Muzamil Mehmood described the gesture as a great honour, encouragement, and token of affection from the Prime Minister. He said that being chosen to receive the book is a matter of immense pride and serves as a source of motivation to continue serving society with greater dedication and commitment.
For the past 13 years, Muzamil Mehmood has been actively engaged in social service, working tirelessly for the welfare and well-being of the community. His initiatives have focused on youth empowerment, blood donation drives, anti-drug awareness campaigns, sports activities, medical camps, cyber awareness programmes, Tiranga rallies, women empowerment initiatives, and community development efforts across Jammu & Kashmir. He also served as a Covid Warrior during the pandemic, extending assistance and support to people in need.
A strong advocate of youth engagement through sports, Muzamil Mehmood has successfully involved more than 50,000 youth in constructive activities under the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan. Through the organization of cricket tournaments, martial arts events, marathons, cycle road races, and other sporting initiatives, he has consistently encouraged young people to adopt healthy lifestyles, stay away from drug abuse, and contribute positively to society. His efforts have played a significant role in promoting fitness, discipline, teamwork, and social responsibility among the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
While thanking the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Muzamil Mehmood stated that he is not affiliated with any NGO, trust, or political party and has been carrying out social work independently. Despite facing personal hardships, including the loss of his father during his teenage years and the recent demise of his mother, he has remained steadfast in his commitment to serving humanity and contributing to nation-building.
Muzamil Mehmood further expressed hope that with the support and encouragement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the administration, he would be able to expand his social initiatives beyond District Budgam and work more extensively for the welfare of people across the entire Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
On the occasion, Muzamil Mehmood congratulated the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his remarkable tenure and appreciated his vision for a Viksit Bharat. He lauded the Prime Minister’s efforts towards youth empowerment, social welfare, infrastructure development, and nation-building, expressing confidence that India will continue to achieve new milestones under his leadership.
Reaffirming his dedication to youth engagement, social welfare, and public service, he requested continued administrative and institutional support to strengthen efforts aimed at creating a healthier, drug-free, empowered, and progressive society.
Speaking on the occasion, Muzamil Mehmood said that this recognition from the Hon’ble Prime Minister will further inspire him to continue his mission of serving society selflessly and working towards the upliftment of youth and marginalized sections of the community.
