CIK Raids 8 Locations Across J&K in Anti-Terror Probe

Searches Conducted Across Six Districts; Investigation Focuses on Terror Recruitment, Radicalisation and Pakistan-Based Handlers

Srinagar, June 3 (KNC): Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Wensday carried out raids at eight locations across six districts of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with an ongoing investigation into terror-related activities, officials said.

Sources told KNC that the searches were conducted in a case registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Arms Act and Foreigners Act.

The operation was launched on the basis of intelligence inputs, technical surveillance and evidence gathered during the course of investigation. Raids were conducted in Srinagar, Bandipora, Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam and Sopore areas of Baramulla district.

According to officials, the suspects are under investigation for their alleged links with Pakistan-based terror handlers through encrypted communication platforms. They are also being probed for alleged involvement in radicalisation, dissemination of extremist content and providing support to terror-related activities.

The searches were aimed at collecting incriminating material, uncovering terror linkages, identifying associates, facilitators and overground workers (OGWs), and gathering evidence to further strengthen the investigation.

Officials said all legal formalities were completed and search warrants were obtained from the competent court before conducting the raids. The operations were carried out under strict security arrangements with the assistance of technical teams.

Further investigation in the case is in progress, officials added. (KNC)
