60-Hour Creative Learning Initiative to Empower Next-Gen Women Leaders through Theatre, Music, Dance, Creative Expression

Dr. Naveen Anand Hails Programme as a Model of NEP-Driven Experiential Learning that Equips Students for Real-World Challenges

Jammu, June 4, 2026: Continuing its commitment to youth empowerment and the promotion of performing arts, Rangyug, Performing Arts Foundation today launched the Third Edition of its Summer Internship Programme (SIP 2026) for the students of Government College for Women (GCW), Parade Ground, Jammu and Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar.

The 60-hour internship programme has been specially designed to provide young women with a unique platform to explore their creativity, enhance communication skills and build confidence through theatre, music, dance, creative writing, voice and speech, yoga, personality development and leadership-oriented activities. The initiative seeks to create a vibrant learning environment where students can discover their potential through experiential and arts-based education.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Naveen Anand, Principal, Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu, as the Chief Guest. Among others present on the occasion were Prof Seema, Prof Vishal, HoD Music, Prof. Rakesh Kalotra, Prof. Chanakya, Er. S. Amarjeet Singh, Pankaj Pradhan, Raj Kumar Behrupia, Ashish Sharma, and senior faculty members and a large number of students from both the colleges.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Naveen Anand appreciated Rangyug for its sustained efforts in promoting performing arts among young students and creating meaningful opportunities for experiential learning. He observed that initiatives such as SIP are closely aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises holistic, multidisciplinary and skill-oriented education. He said that the performing arts play a vital role in nurturing creativity, communication skills, critical thinking, teamwork and leadership qualities among students.

Dr. Anand further remarked that young women today require platforms that encourage self-expression, confidence and innovation, and that programmes like SIP provide exactly such opportunities. He lauded Rangyug for consistently designing impactful educational interventions that blend art, culture and life skills, thereby contributing significantly to the overall personality development and real-world preparedness of students. He expressed confidence that the participants would greatly benefit from the programme and carry forward the learning into their academic, professional and personal lives.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Kumar, Director, Rangyug, said, “SIP is much more than an internship. It is a journey of self-realisation, creativity, and personal growth. Through theatre, music, dance and cultural expression, we strive to nurture confident individuals who can think critically, communicate effectively, and contribute positively to society. The response received from the previous editions has been extremely encouraging and inspires us to continue strengthening this initiative.”

Over the years, SIP has emerged as one of Rangyug’s flagship educational initiatives, offering students meaningful opportunities to learn directly from accomplished artists, performers, educators, and media professionals. Through interactive workshops, practical sessions, performances, and creative exercises, participants gain exposure to diverse artistic disciplines while developing confidence, teamwork, critical thinking, and communication skills.

With a distinguished panel of mentors and a carefully curated curriculum, SIP 2026 promises to be a transformative experience for aspiring young artists and future leaders. The programme reaffirms Rangyug’s longstanding commitment to using the arts as a catalyst for education, empowerment, self-realisation and social change.
