Farmers establish Ultra High-Density Orchards in Poonch Villages by availing HADP support system

DC conducts inspection, interacts with orchardists at Kanuyian, Mangnar

POONCH, MAY 20: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today inspected the Ultra High-Density Orchards in Kanuyian and Mangnar villages established by local farmers by availing Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) support system.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Sayeed also accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection.

 Chief Horticulture Officer Uttam Lal briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the development of the orchards and informed that Ultra High-Density Plantation is greatly benefiting farmers by increasing productivity, improving fruit quality and generating better income opportunities.

During the inspection, the farmers shared their experiences and informed the Deputy Commissioner that they have immensely benefited from the government-sponsored scheme.

The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the dedication and efforts of the farmers in adopting modern horticulture practices and making the scheme successful at the grassroots level. He stated that such initiatives are playing a vital role in transforming the agriculture and horticulture sectors and enhancing income opportunities for the farming community.

He encouraged the farmers to continue utilizing innovative techniques and government schemes for further expansion and development of horticulture activities in the district.

The farmers expressed gratitude to the government and district administration for providing timely support and guidance under the HADP scheme.
