Ganderbal Resonates with Eid Prayers, Joy and Togetherness

Thousands gather at Eidgahs and mosques across the district as scenes of faith, brotherhood and celebration mark Eid-ul-Adha festivities

Ganderbal May 27: Thousands of people on Wednesday gathered at Eidgahs and mosques across central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district to offer Eid-ul-Adha prayers amid an atmosphere of devotion, warmth and celebration.

Large congregations were witnessed in Kangan, Beehama, Duderhama, Manigam, Wakura, Lar and several other areas, where worshippers assembled from the early morning hours to participate in the special Eid prayers. The sound of prayers and Eid greetings echoed across the district as people from all walks of life came together to mark the festival with religious fervour.

Religious clerics, while addressing the congregations, recited verses from the Quran and highlighted the teachings of Eid-ul-Adha, emphasising sacrifice, patience, compassion and social responsibility. Special prayers were also offered for peace, prosperity and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.

Children dressed in colourful traditional attire accompanied their families to the Eidgahs, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion. After the prayers, emotional scenes were witnessed as people embraced one another, exchanged Eid greetings and shared smiles of joy and togetherness. Many children were seen happily greeting friends and elders, reflecting the spirit of unity, love and brotherhood associated with the festival.

Following the prayers, families visited relatives, friends and graveyards in keeping with local traditions, while many households later participated in the ritual sacrifice marking Eid-ul-Adha, continuing the celebrations with a spirit of gratitude, faith and togetherness.
