Jamia Millia Islamia Excels in India Today Rankings 2026: Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management Secures 3rd Rank, Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics Ranks 5th

New Delhi, July 7, 2026: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has achieved significant recognition in the India Today Rankings 2026, with its Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management securing 1st rank nationally in the Best Value for Money Hotel Management Colleges category and 3rd rank nationally among Best Emerging Hotel Management Colleges. Adding to the university’s achievements, JMI’s Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics has retained its position among India’s premier architecture institutions by securing the 5th rank in the India Today–MDRA Best Colleges Ranking 2026 under the Architecture category.

Congratulating the faculty, students, and staff on the achievement, Vice Chancellor ,JMI, Prof. Mazhar Asif and Registrar, JMI, Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi said the recognition reflects JMI’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, industry engagement, quality education, and holistic student development across professional disciplines.

Prof. Mazhar Asif described the rankings as a testament to JMI’s sustained pursuit of excellence in niche areas of higher education. Expressing confidence that both the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics would continue to scale new heights, he said the rankings reaffirm the university’s emphasis on quality education and industry-oriented learning.

Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi termed the achievement a matter of immense pride for the university and appreciated the collective efforts of the faculty, students, researchers, alumni, and staff in strengthening JMI’s academic reputation. He noted that every national and international ranking reinforces the university’s belief that sustained academic excellence and dedicated efforts by its students and faculty translate into greater success.

The Vice Chancellor and Registrar congratulated JMI’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for its role in the achievement. They also congratulated Prof. Pankaj Kumar Gupta, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, and Prof. Sarah Hussain, Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, for the department’s outstanding performance across key parameters, including academics, research, industry collaborations, internships, placements, and skill development.

They further congratulated Prof. Qamar Irshad, Dean, Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics, and Prof. Taiyaba Munawer, Head, Department of Architecture, for the faculty’s impressive performance in the India Today–MDRA Best Colleges Ranking 2026. The ranking evaluates architecture institutions on parameters such as intake quality and governance, academic excellence, infrastructure and campus life, personality and leadership development, career progression and placements, and perception among academic and industry experts.

The latest rankings reaffirm Jamia Millia Islamia’s commitment to advancing academic excellence, fostering innovation, and strengthening its position among India’s leading institutions of higher education.
