DIET Doda hosts Seminar on ECCE and FLN; 70 Education functionaries participated

DODA, JULY 4: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Doda, on Saturday organized a one-day seminar on Strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) under the overall supervision of Principal DIET, Rajesh Kumar at the ICT Lab. The initiative reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strengthening foundational learning in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the NIPUN Bharat Mission.

The seminar witnessed the participation of 70 education functionaries from across District Doda including Zonal Nodal Officers (ZNOs), School Nodal Officers (SNOs) and Resource Persons (RPs), reflecting a coordinated effort to enhance early grade education.

Experts during the sessions emphasized the pivotal role of ECCE in fostering the cognitive, emotional, and social development of young learners. They also highlighted the urgent need to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills at the early stages of schooling. The deliberations focused on child-centred pedagogy, activity-based learning, joyful classroom practices and effective teaching strategies to improve learning outcomes.

Participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing field experiences and best practices from their respective zones. The seminar also served as a platform for collaborative learning and the exchange of innovative ideas to address challenges in early grade education.

Speaking on the occasion, officials of DIET Doda underscored that strong foundational education is essential for ensuring long-term academic success. They urged participants to effectively implement the knowledge and strategies gained during the seminar at the grassroots level.

The programme concluded with an interactive feedback session followed by a formal vote of thanks. Participants lauded DIET Doda for organizing an informative and enriching seminar aimed at improving the quality of school education in the district.
