DC Kulgam visits Eklavya Model Residential School; Reviews developmental works

KULGAM, JULY 03: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam who is also the Chairperson of Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), today visited the EMRS campus and reviewed the progress of various infrastructure and developmental works being undertaken at the institution.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the facilities available at the school and took stock of the ongoing works aimed at strengthening residential and educational infrastructure.

He directed the concerned departments to complete all pending necessities in the Boys Hostel within ten days to facilitate the shifting of students, staff and mess facilities.

He also reviewed the provision of furniture for the Boys Hostel and the Principal’s quarters and instructed the concerned authorities to ensure its timely availability.

Emphasising the need for timely completion of projects, he directed that the construction work on the Girls Hostel be completed by October 2026.

He further stressed the need for early completion of landscaping and development of the school playground.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the proposal for installation of a hybrid solar power system at the institution and directed the concerned department to expedite the process. He further instructed the concerned authorities to issue and install a dedicated electricity meter for the school.

The DC was accompanied by CEO, Aharbal Development Authority, Mohd Rouf Rehman; JDP, Malik Suhail;  SDM D H Pora, Bashir-ul-Hassan, Executive Engineers from Jal Shakti R&B, Tehsildar D.H. Pora and other concerned officers.
