Zanskar, 03 July, 2026: Government Degree College Zanskar organised an awareness programme on the Ban on Single-Use Plastics under the guidance and supervision of the Principal, Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, with the active participation of all the faculty members and students of the college.
The programme was supported by the Block Development Officer (BDO), Rural Development Department, Zanskar, who contributed to the initiative by providing six dustbins for installation across the college campus. This support aims to strengthen waste management practices and promote a cleaner, greener, and plastic-free campus.
The programme highlighted the importance of reducing plastic pollution, encouraging sustainable practices, and creating environmental awareness among students and staff. The college expressed its sincere gratitude to the BDO, Rural Development Department, Zanskar, for the valuable support and cooperation in making the initiative a success.
