Budgam strengthens Community outreach under NMBA through Awareness & Coordinated Action

BUDGAM, JUNE 27: District Budgam today witnessed a series of impactful activities under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), with various departments joining hands to promote awareness against drug abuse and encourage active community participation in building a healthy and drug-free society.

An awareness programme was organized in collaboration with Urban Local Bodies (ULB) members, Self Help Group (SHG) members, and Fire & Emergency Services, who participated in a public outreach drive to educate citizens about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The campaign emphasized the importance of collective responsibility, healthy living and community involvement in preventing substance abuse, while reinforcing the message of a safe and addiction-free society.

Meanwhile, the Excise Department, Sub Range Budgam, intensified its awareness and preventive initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan by conducting awareness and survey programmes in different areas of the district. Through public interaction, distribution of awareness material and community outreach, local residents were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraged to actively support the campaign against illicit cultivation and substance abuse.

The day’s activities reflected the growing momentum of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Budgam, with coordinated efforts by government departments and active public participation contributing to the campaign’s objectives.

The District Administration Budgam reiterated its commitment to sustaining awareness, outreach and preventive initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and urged citizens to continue supporting the collective mission of creating a healthier, safer and drug-free society.
