SRINAGAR, June 21 Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday participated in the International Day of Yoga celebrations at the iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar and expressed happiness over the overwhelming public participation across Jammu and Kashmir, describing Yoga as a powerful force that unites the world and guides humanity towards a healthier and happier future.
Addressing participants on the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor said it was wonderful to witness the incredible enthusiasm among people from all walks of life for the International Day of Yoga. He noted that Yoga has emerged as a global movement for wellness and inner harmony, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries.
Joining citizens, youth, officials, and fitness enthusiasts at Dal Lake, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that true health is achieved through a balance of body, mind, and emotions. He said that in today’s fast-paced world, where people are constantly distracted by screens, technology, and stress, Yoga offers a path to self-awareness, mental peace, and holistic well-being.
“Yoga truly unites the world and guides us toward a healthier, happier future. True health means balancing body, mind, and emotions. While modern life constantly pulls our attention outward to screens and stress, Yoga teaches us to turn inward,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Highlighting the growing global recognition of Yoga, Manoj Sinha expressed pride in seeing the ancient Indian tradition become a cornerstone of global health and wellness. He said Yoga not only strengthens physical fitness but also promotes mental resilience, emotional stability, and spiritual growth.
