Rajouri, June 19, 2026: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan (NMJKA), the Arboriculture & Landscaping Section of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, organized a plantation drive titled “Ek Ped, Nashey Ke Viruddh” on the university campus today.
The plantation drive was led by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, and the Registrar, Sh. Ravi Kumar Sihag, who actively participated in the programme and planted saplings alongside faculty members, officers and staff of the University
On the occasion Prof. Jawaid Iqbal emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and collective social responsibility. He highlighted that planting trees is a powerful symbol of nurturing life, promoting sustainability, and building a healthy society free from the menace of drug abuse. He called upon the youth to actively support the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and become ambassadors of positive change.
Registrar Sh. Ravi Kumar Sihag appreciated the initiative and stressed the need for sustained awareness campaigns to educate young people about the harmful effects of substance abuse while encouraging environmentally responsible behaviour.
Notably, the University has been meticulously conducting regular activities under the 100- day Nasha Mukht Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan (NMJKA) by involving all Departments, Students, faculty, staff , civil society and other stakeholders.
