RAMBAN, JUNE 10: In a significant step towards promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable agriculture among rural youth, Chief Agriculture Officer Ramban Dr Vinay Kumar Jandial along with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ramban Scientist Dr Raj Kumar visited the ongoing Mushroom Cultivation Training Programme being conducted by SBI RSETI Ramban at Batti, Maitra.
During the visit, the CAO interacted with the trainees and appreciated their enthusiasm for adopting mushroom cultivation as a viable income-generating activity. He motivated the participants to embrace innovative agricultural practices and highlighted the immense potential of agri-based enterprises in improving rural livelihoods.
The CAO also educated the trainees about various government-sponsored schemes being implemented by the Agriculture Department, including the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Kisan Credit Card (KCC Agri) and the KCC Working Capital Scheme. He encouraged the trainees to avail these schemes for establishing and expanding their agricultural ventures.
Speaking on the occasion, the KVK Ramban Scientist provided valuable insights on soil testing, scientific farming techniques and various extension activities being undertaken by KVK for the benefit of farmers. He emphasised the importance of adopting scientific methods to enhance productivity and profitability in agriculture.
The training programme is being conducted under the overall supervision of SBI RSETI Ramban Director S Harvinder Singh. The primary objective of the programme is to empower rural communities through skill development, create self-employment opportunities and generate greater interest in agriculture and allied sectors.
Both dignitaries expressed satisfaction over the quality of training being imparted by SBI RSETI Ramban and lauded the institute’s efforts in promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance among rural youth and aspiring entrepreneurs. They conveyed their best wishes to the trainees and appreciated SBI RSETI Ramban for its continued contribution towards rural development and livelihood generation in the district.
