MLA Shagun Parihar Welcomes ₹2.47 Crore Approval for Restoration of Historic Raghunath Ji Temple in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, June 10: MLA Kishtwar, Shagun Parihar, has welcomed the administrative approval of ₹2.47 crore for the revival and restoration of the historic Raghunath Ji Temple in Kishtwar by the Directorate of Archives, Archaeology and Museums, Jammu & Kashmir.

Expressing gratitude to the government and the concerned department, the MLA described the approval as a landmark step towards preserving Kishtwar’s rich cultural, religious, and architectural heritage. She said the restoration of the centuries-old temple would not only conserve an important heritage structure but also promote religious tourism and create greater awareness about the region’s glorious historical legacy.

Shagun Parihar congratulated the people of Kishtwar on the fulfillment of this long-pending demand and stated that the restoration of the revered shrine would further strengthen the cultural identity of the district. She expressed hope that the restoration work would be carried out and completed in a time-bound manner while maintaining the temple’s original heritage character and architectural significance.

Reaffirming her commitment to the holistic development of Kishtwar, the MLA emphasized that alongside infrastructure and developmental projects, the preservation of historical and religious landmarks remains equally important. She noted that heritage conservation plays a vital role in connecting future generations with their roots, traditions, and cultural values.

Meanwhile, local residents, devotees, and members of civil society have expressed gratitude to the MLA for her persistent efforts in securing approval for the restoration project. They described the decision as a historic milestone for Kishtwar and observed that the revival of the Raghunath Ji Temple would restore the grandeur of one of the region’s most revered religious landmarks.

The people expressed confidence that the restoration project would significantly enhance the spiritual, cultural, and tourism potential of Kishtwar, attracting pilgrims and visitors while contributing to the preservation of the district’s rich heritage.
